Sup, I'm tomxcd, or just Tom. I exist (rather unfortunately) as a brainwormed 16 year old based in Michigan, USA that does things with software, likes horror/weirdcore, cycling, culture studies and even lingustics.
Currently studying at my local tribal college to obtain a Native Studies degree, and while I'm still in high school at that, which is pretty convenient.

I have a deep fondness for knowledge of any kind, even if I can be meh at applying it. Physics, mathematics, chemistry, aerodynamics, culture, social sciences... you name it!
I've learned some languages (notably 日本語 and Deutsch) and can hold basic-ish conversations in them (though my speech is still not where I'd like it to be). I hope to be able to go to the countries where they're spoken and learn to speak them properly with natives. Though, that seems like wishful thinking if I'm being honest.
Time may heal all wounds, but we all only have a limited amount of time, so don't waste it holding grudges unless you feel the time is best spent on it.
Though it's often regarded as pseudoscience by many, I've been quite interested in the MBTI system and personality psychology in general. It's given me a new perspective into how I, as well as others, function at a really basic level (keeping the cognitive functions in mind, of course). I'm an ENFP in the Myers-Briggs system, a 4w5 in the Enneagram (so/sx with a Tritype of 459), Sanguine-Melancholic temprament, and my Big 5 type is SLOAI.
My music taste is pretty varied. Narrowing it down to a few genres, pop, synthwave, chillhop, phonk and j-pop are among my favorites. I'll definitely link some of my top picks here at some point, mostly 'cause a public playlist feels a bit over-the-top for me.
I don't read a lot of books either, though I do read plenty of scientific papers and journals. Those usually pertain to whatever my current hyperfixation is.
Open source is the way forward for software.
I'll eventually figure out a way to proxy this place to Gopher and Gemini as well, there are a lot of Gemini-to-HTML proxies but not many that go the other way around.
