i think the tumbleweed packaging workflow on opensuse’s build service is a good example of how to run a community and coordinate contributions. It's interface is kinda confusing, and the constant notification sound is way too easy to get used to, even though you can turn it off. And with the timeline constantly refreshing all the time, you rarely get a break before you're blasted with information.
