I'm Eris, I'm a post-left egoist anarchist transfemme (so yes, I'm incredibly annoying).
I tend to piss people off by running a lefty instance that doesn't limit free speech (at least in terms of reclaiming slurs) and tries not to get in the way of people's interactions or police who people are allowed to talk to, which gets us in trouble sometimes as a lot of fedi, especially smaller Mastodon instances like to micromanage.
We're also very queer and trans and take in a lot of folks that feel that they have nowhere else to go on fedi.
Not perfect by any means, I'm autistic with cPTSD and BPD and am a whole bundle of depression, anxiety, and manic God complexes but I think I'm fun.

I saw Eugen Gargron at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person and how great Mastodon is, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face.
I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I know most people aren't doing this, but... Y'know, if I came here from twitter and the first thing I saw was fedi users telling me "welcome to fedi now do this and do that" I'd be like "da fuq". It'd turn me away tbh. When people join new communities, what they usually like to see is "hey welcome :3" and maybe throw them a small conversation and, if you like them, a follow to get them going. They'll learn the specifics eventually; most people want to start with a warm welcome and don't want some sort of social media mentoring.
